Changes to Uniform Expectations for 2011-2012 06/19/2011

Parents,

We are all sensitive to our struggling national economy and the need for our families to stretch their dollars.  In an

effort to be sensitive to the needs of our families and the costs for uniforms, we will allow our Holy Cross students to wear any brand of khaki pants/shorts next year if they are similar in style and color to the current Flynn & O'Hara brand.  Flynn & O'Hara pants and shorts will continue to be acceptable as well.

If you buy khaki pants and/or shorts from other vendors besides Flynn & O'Hara, please note the following expectations:

*  All pants/shorts should be dress khakis (similar to the current style from Flynn & O'Hara); business casual style

*  All pants/shorts should have belt loops and belts MUST be worn with pants/shorts at the middle and high school

levels (all shirts must be tucked in with the exception that girls wearing the new banded bottom polo do not have to have shirt tucked in).

*  No denim khakis, no rivets, no designs, no cargo pants, no painters pants, no flair bottoms, no cuffs - pants should be similar in style to our current selections at Flynn O'Hara.

*  No low rise or low cut pants/shorts - all pants/shorts should fall at the natural waist

*  Shorts must be long shorts, hem should fall no more than two inches above the knee.

We hope this change in expectations will allow our families to find the best value for purchases.  Uniform expectations for shirts and outerwear will remain the same.  We plan to evaluate this change throughout the year, so we ask parents to support our efforts in maintaining a uniformed, professional look with our students.

Wishing you a wonderful summer.print
