Frequently Asked Questions
What is Campaign 130?
Campaign 130 was started in 2008 by a group of dedicated parents, former students and alumni, faculty, Holy Cross Advisory School Board members and others to raise funds for needed capital improvements. The group formed the Holy Cross Regional Catholic School Foundation to help facilitate the fundraising and enhancement effort.
What is the fundraising goal of the Campaign?
The total goal of the Campaign is $1,000,000. The school received an initial investment contribution of $350,000.00 from Mr. Al Stroobants who further agreed to give an additional $150,000.00 when the school/foundation matches the initial donation of $350,000.00. Once achieved, the additional contributions will help initiate and maintain the Endowment Fund.
How will the Campaign funds be disbursed?
The funds will be used for the following enhancements:
Upgrade science and technology
Improve classrooms and cafeteria
Upgrade the theater
Upgrade the playground
Improve the athletic fields
Install new front and gymnasium doors
Install new landscaping
Overlay parking lot
Repave the monument sign
Install air handlers in gymnasium
Refurbish locker rooms
What is the difference between Campaign 130 and the Annual Fund?
The Campaign 130 funds are independent and distinct from the Annual Fund. Campaign 130 is a specific fund raising initiative designed for school improvements. It is part of the two-year Stroobant’s matching fund. Annual Fund contributions are designated to the operational budget.
What is the Holy Cross Catholic School Foundation?
The group was formed to raise funds to support Campaign 130 and, in partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, to give oversight to the foundation’s expenditures. Based upon the school’s equity, the Diocese has offered the school a line of credit to begin the improvements and projects.
